My reason for wanting to raise money for the Word of Honor Fund is heartfelt and simple.

The Word of Honor Fund is about helping keep the promise made by Navy SEALs to their families that they themselves could not keep due to being killed in action.

Every time I have raced, I am keeping the promise I made to my dad back when I was out walking with my Dad at five years old.
I told my dad that when he dies I want him to be cremated, and I want to have his ashes.
Puzzled, he asked me, "Why Son?"

I responded, “well dad, you like going on walks so much, I want to take you with for a walk with me.“

My dad remembered that conversation for the rest of his life.

Years later, days before he was gone, he reminded me of the conversation, and with a smile in his face and tears in my eyes he told me that he’s looking forward to his walks with me. As I held on to him sobbing, not ready to fulfill that promise I had made all those years ago, he reminded me that now he will always be with me.

Fast forward to 9/10/2021.

I once again found myself making a promise to a parent, as my Mother lay on her death bed. I promised her that I will use whatever platform I have to spread the Lord's love and help any athletes I can by starting The Dream Team in her honor. She also told me to make sure I never stop helping people in all I do along the way.

Not only are my they finally together again, they're with me in every race.

Everything I’ve been doing has been to keep my promise to my parents.

This is why I feel this foundation is most in line with what I have been doing, and feel that I should support it as much as I possibly can.
